Required Episodes
Because of the necessary context they provide, Chapters 5 and 6 should be watched before starting season 3 of The Mandalorian. However, they can be watched without watching other episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, as they're entirely about Din Djarin. They cover the origins of his new ship, give insight into the Child's (Grogu's) training, reveal Mandalorian history, and further Din Djarin's story.
Conversely, chapter 7 could be difficult to follow without the context of watching chapters one through four of The Book of Boba Fett. While fun to watch for The Mandalorian fans, if you skipped this episode the only essential thing to The Mandalorian's story line you're missing is Grogu returns to be with Din Djarin.
Content by Chapter
You can read about what's typically in a season 2 episode here. Below you can find any extra potentially objectionable content in each episode:
Chapter 5
The Mandalorian uses the Dark Saber to cut a character in half. He then decapitates them (blurred by a curtain) and walks around with the non-visible head in a burlap sack that drips blood.
Chapter 6
Spice, which is Star War's equivalent of drugs, is mentioned. There's many displays of Grogu and his master using the force to manipulate the world, as well as discussions of how they do it. A gang explodes a bomb inside a busy civilian business.
Chapter 7
Spice is mentioned again. There's a lot of fighting in this episode. A massive beast (that younger kids may find scary) joins the fight and is shown eating someone. An iconic Star Wars bad guy (known to anyone that's watched The Clone Wars series) is killed. Rival leaders are shown being assassinated, including one that is hung.
Conclusion
To understand the story in The Mandalorian Season 3, some episodes from The Book of Boba Fett should be watched. These episodes have their own set of additional concerns, including a couple scenes that are more violent than typical The Mandalorian scenes.
